Gilbert and Glendale all the way. Dude I'll totally hit you up when I get my SS and break it in. I'm ordering an '06 as soon as I get my GMS printout from my friend at work. =).

Scared, no. Curious, yes.

Plus as I see it, the Cobalt is a "brother in arms" against the imports. The rivalry between the two would be something like that of the Army vs Marines...

Besides, it'll be awhile before someone's modded an SS enough to catch me... and by that time I'll be running a bigger turbo, a NRGY Race ported head and most likely 11's

Cool. Ya, get it broke in; would like to see it at the track, although I generally go to Speedworld, which is alot further for you than Fireturd.

I think Firebird is still $17. Speedworld is now $20, but you get ALOT more runs in at Speedword because they are generally less busy.

Street nights will always have traction issues because they don't prep the track (except *maybe* the first 60'). If you want a prepped track you'll need to go on an actual race event (i.e. bracket racing).

I rarely head out to Firebird... they're a bit too, eh, "formal" out there.

I might go to the SCO night in October tho. Hopefully my R/T will be back together by then. Turn some heads with an All Motor 2.0L powered Neon running mid 11's. I may even have both cars out there.

Weight redux is aweswome http://www.azchatfield.net/neonproject.htm

The car probably weighs around 1400~1500lbs empty right now. I've got to get the cage put in it and then I will be replacing the floor with aluminum and converting the rear suspension to a solid axle, and doing more aluminum sheet metal work back there. Hopefully the extra weight redux will offset the weight of the cage and the car will stay about the same weight.

The engine made 202whp on the dyno last time, and ran out of air @ 7200 rpm (restrictive intake manifold) and fuel (24lb injectors just wasn't enough). I'm adding a custom intake manifold and 36lb injectors. That should take care of the air and fuel problem and the car should make peak hp around 8500rpm. Based on the last dyno, if it peaks at 8500 rpm we should get 225 to 250whp out of it. Add a 250lb driver to a 1500lb car w/ 225 whp with enough traction (I have 24.5x8.5x13 slicks) should put it somewhere in the mid 11's...

I'll keep an eye out for ya.

I saw a black SS (first one I've seen on the streets) Friday coming home from work. I was on Dunlap Ave heading West. It turned North on either 43rd or 51st (I don't remember).
