April Meet
Looking forward to this meet gang!
Hey, you flipped the script on me! lol. I thought we were meeting at the Shell at Noon. I'm guessing it changed and I just never noticed. Most of my crew might just meet you guys at the Shell Gas Station anyway. Its closer and inline from where we are coming from (SFV).
About what time will you guys be at the Shell Checkpoint?

Hey guys...
I might be able to make this meet, and possibly a buddy might show with his '06 Redline...
Bridfi - Have you mailed out those decals? If not, PM me... Maybe u could get them to me on the 20th.

What's the deal with us north-siders? Who all is coming down from north side hit me up and maybe we can cruise together.

Ah, cool. I didnt know the bowl was that close. I'll have to give my boys a heads up. Only prob is I've given out verbal invites to the meet at the Shell Station @ noon.
I'll send out a mass email on my site to my crew advising.
Sundays gonna be great. Taking out my speaker box to lighten the load. Charging up my cameras.
*Note* This is totally your show (an SCE event) and all and in no way do I want to impose. But being I have experience on running this mountain a few times with my group I do have a few thoughts on how to make the event more enjoyable and to get the most out of the day.
One thing we might want to consider, regardless of the rendezvous point at Shell is once you start the climb, theres a real nice pull out / look out where we can line up the cars and take some pics. Its the 3rd pull out if I recall. You will know it because its paved as apposed to the dirt pull outs. Its the one we normally use for our group shots. Plus is nice to then strap on the cameras and such. You dont really want to record the cruise from the Shell on up cause it would be boring.
Another tip. Ill probably have one of my cameras mounted to my gas filler door. With the camera mounted there, it makes for filming cars in the passing lanes or cars passing me look real nice. Well want to take advantage of that too. The passing lanes that is. I did not put enough emphasis on this the last run we made and when we came to the passing lanes, everyone went WOT and we have to fight for position, Heheh.
As long as everyone is aware of whos running what cameras, well get some great footage. You want to mix things up in the passing lanes and such. Have the cars jockey for position. As long as the camera cars get to switch position from time to time. You dont want 35+ minutes of video tape of one car right?

Hehe. Yup. I only speak from experience. With this many good looking rides coming out, you guys wanna make this the best it can be.
Also, there is that really big stretch of hwy just before the 14 that can be taken advantage of. I'm not gonna admit anything, but you can film some 4 wide fly-bys, triple digit high speed passes, 50mph ebrake slides, etd. Heheh. (note the picture in my signature)
GM Power all the way!
