Yeah, the DEX-COOL sludge-o'-death isn't one of my favorite coolants. It actually isn't too bad as long as you don't try to go the full advertised 5/150k and never add tap water or mix other coolant types (which it will react to; only use distilled water to mix with it). If you flush the system and keep it in for no more than a couple years, max, you shouldn't have any issues.

At the one year mark I'm probably switching over to Zerex G-05. It's a HOAT (hybrid organic acid technology) vice Havoline's DEX-COOL which is an OAT coolant and the Zerex isn't as corrosive to seals and gaskets. If you're still under warranty and concerned about it then stick with DEX-COOL but just make sure to change it often.
