HP Tuning in Vegas!!!
Dates aren't concrete yet. I am still getting a feel for how many and when is a good time. Ideally it would be done before it gets too hot out, so hopefully before May or so. Its really up to you guys to decide when is best and then let me know.
Also, on an ethanol tune you will be pushing over 400lbs/feet of torque to the ground. our clutch is rated to like 350lbs/feet at the crank. Mine would slip on my 91 tune so I hooked it up with a new one. Really its up to you guys on how you want you car set up. I can only make recommendations base on how my car performs and what I have learned about this platform on here and through others. I am making the recommendation because I want everyone to be happy with the tune and I don't want a thread to go up in the LNF section saying 'RyRidesMotoX is a dick and busted my car' or something to that effect lol... not saying any of you would do that, I just want to make sure.
Like I said above, I can get a few days off whenever. When will you be able to do it? I want to do as many people as possible so I can make it easy. And Sin City Bailout is coming in May I think. I'll be trying to make that this year. So If we do it around the same time I think that would work out well.
Lets get 8 people and save you another 50 bucks. To be honest $500 is a little steep compared to a canned tune or trifecta. But a GMS1 tune and sensors are like 700 I think, also it is a very conservative tune that still has knock retard when you go WOT which is not good. Trifecta is 200-300 depending on options and if you are going to keep the cable, and Vince takes forever to get back to you sometimes, and his tunes, while safe, aren't taking your car to it's full potential. Trifecta tunes are always too rich. Canned tunes, like a Superchips or a Hahn tuner, are good but they are not tuned to your car and options.
Honestly with HP tuners, you are using what the fastest cars on here are using. From one of the 2 best tuners on here. And it will be a very safe tune. I drive my car rather spiritedly most of the time. I have 0KR on my ethanol mix and 91 octane tunes. I have been running them for about 25,000 miles with no problems on stock plugs and MAP sensors (granted I would make sure the plugs are gapped properly at a .030-.032). Also when I keep my foot out of it and cruise at 65-70mph I am getting 28-33mpg. It is hard not to fall into the temptation of a little BOV next to people's open windows lol

Shoot for Sin City Bailout days. I'm going this year and I'll tune you guys then.
LSJ or LNF is the same. In the HPT software you need 2 credits to be able to write files to the computer. You do have the advantage of being able to run straight ethanol though. You will most likely need larger injectors to accommodate more flow. I haven't worked with LSJs alot so I am not as knowledgeable about them as I am with the LNF, as far as what supporting mods are needed for certain things etc etc. But we can get yours set up no problem.

I would be down to crash there dude for sure. Hopefully we can get some more people to tune. 3 is good but 5 would be better... I will lower the price to $450 for everyone since I'll be out there anyways and I wont have to make a special trip.
EDIT: I have told Terminator2 (the guys who actually tunes the cars) that I will be out there that weekend of the 11th so he is all ready to get busy tuning that weekend
Dang just missed you, I'm in the San Jose area. Beale AFB is about 2 1/2 hours north of me. Just keep me posted when you come up this way, need a good tune. I will drive up there or maybe meet somewhere.
Yea I'll post on here or in other regional sections about my travels if they take me near people that need tunes I'll make sure to bring my computer and cable
If your using hypertech program, arent the credits only $50. Why are you charging so much?? For $500 anyone can buy the program and tune their own car. Hypertech even will teach you, I talked to them at sema. I understand traveling expenses and everything.
$50 a credit, 2 credits to unlock LNF so $100, $300 for a tune from a professional that is very well known for his tuning abilities on cobalts, $50 for travel expenses, its $450 now not $500. And unless you have experience tuning and the knowledge and trust yourself i dont recommend tuning your own car. HP tuners ( http://www.hptuners.com/order.php ) as seen here is $500 . Tuning is not something i would experiment with. If you dont want or agree with the tuning prices dont get one
Considering that I was asking for everyone else....who the heck are you?? My cobalt was hptuned for $100. Your not the tuner so dont type a reply. Also Hptuners will put you in a class depending on what your looking to do, from tuning your own car to opening a shop. Just because your scared of tuning doesnt mean I am, If your scared go buy a camry
Look dude i wasnt being a dick, idk where the hell you got a hp tune for 100$ but if it is a good tune then you got hooked up pretty well, most of us would just rather have someone else tune us that has been doing it for a long time, i was just braking down the information so dont be a dick. If your not afraid to tune your car then do it yourself

If anyone feels they are going to be ripped off then let me know. I'm not here trying to make money or anything on it. There are plenty that are. It's just that, if I get enough people together, $50 a head will pay for my gas to get there and back. I don't gamble and I am not a huge fan of Vegas really. It's too hot in the summer, and its around a 6 hour drive.
