By "track" I'm guessing you mean drag strip. The place where anyone can be fast when you are going straight and stepping on the gas.

As opposed with "track" in the traditional sense. A place with braking, turning, and accelerating, where it takes practice and talent to be fast.

I've noticed only people that have not spent time at a real track call drag strips tracks. People that have spent time at both types of competition surfaces almost always clearly differentiate between the two.

Drag racing does take talent to be good at it, but it's not the same as road racing talent.

A good analogy is motorcycle riders and car drivers. Anyone can drive a car. If someone practices driving a little they might get decent at it, but they probably couldn't ride without a lot of training and practice. Someone who is a decent rider will automatically be a decent driver.

Drag racing is the same. Someone who only drag races will more than likely suck on a road course, where someone who road races will likely do pretty well at drag racing.

Not a big deal, just trying to do my part to educate the masses and bring up the knowledge level within the Cobalt community.

Dog

Wow I feel smarter now then I did before I opened this thread!!! LOL Kinda like freeway drivers compaired to people in the hills...

Anyways, I live two hours away from "the drag strip track", so I wont be able to head down there during the week. But would like to know when there is a meet on the weekend.

They are both technically tracks, they're both fun to go to, road course being more so, but drag racing is much more practical.

O yea, ill be at Infineon this Wednesday as long as its dry, if not I may have to go to Sac, but well see.

Infineon is famous as a track, i refer to "the track" as a place cuz thats wut its known for the drag strip is just a plus, i would refer to it as a drag strip if it were that and that only. Also, there is drag and drifting same day so how would you categorize Infineon if you could drag or drift? Track still? Drift Strip?
