ok so sunday i was going on base to check out on leave as you all can see my car does not have cali plates at all and im from texas but i have a cali license. so im going on base and they ask me about my decal so i lied and then told them ive been here for a while besides that they said my tint is illegal my exhaust is illegal but i have a stock down pipe and tsudo n1 cat back exhaust and my turbo is illegal which is garrett alpha turbo for the 2.2 oh and my license plate well i have a jdm license plate holder and its an easy fix but can any one help me with this or who to talk to this is alot of money to make some one happy to get this off my back if you got any thing text me 915 261 9706 oh and this is camp pendleton pmo cops not chp or oc police

is there a fine u have to pay?
i say borrow a stock 2.2 and show up with it and tell them to **** off
the laws changed for fix it tickets exhaust wise, the referees are not free anymore $108 now went into affect back in May
if u fail the sound level u dont have to pay but if it passes u pay and bullshit bullshit
this doesnt really help u as idk whats up with those cops

If you still have your permanent residence in Texas, then you would be fine. If your permanent residence is in Cali, then you are probably screwed. CARB sucks ass.

I myself am a MP aboard camp pendleton. As soon as u enter the state of california even if u are just passing through u are required to abide by all ca laws. Including tint exhaust etc. The residence only applies to registration and even then its only for military. If ur civilian and ur cars registered in say az but u work or live in cali then u can be cited. So in short even though ur registered in texas u still have to abide by ca laws. U do not however have to register ur car here since ur in the military. Ur fucked. U probably won't get cited for it though unless its really dark tint or loud exhaust. Just know that ur mods make ur car scream "stop me" in a cops eyes.

well i was being tailgated by two cops on saturday and i was driving normal and shifting when the light pops up at 2500 and nothing they left me alone and i asked one cop thats a friend of mine and said my **** is fine unless im racing on the street or something stupid then yea i will get fucked but idk i got to talk to the state referee about it and on the other hand i see alot of poeple on base with sr20det and rb26det in there cars with loud ass exhaust and they dont get tickets or anything i go through the gate and yea but i had other **** on but what evers so can i borrow some ones stock exhaust for a day
