dude its a playstation 2, how the hell do you think anyone is going to pay 150 bucks for a playstation 2 when you can get a PS3 for like 200 bucks on ebay and play all the PS2 games?

Dude you cant play the ps2 games on the ps3 just thought id let you know,the old high dollars ones you can, but no way in hell you will get it for 200.00 bucks,i saw one used that plays the play station 2 and it was 450.00 bucks,they stopped making the ones that play both,but the ones wall mart has now you can not , i bought the ps3 and it will not play them thats a fact.

Bullshit, an 80GB or 160GB model PS3 plays PS2 games just fine. The only PS3 that doesn't is the 20/40GB model.

no they still play PS2 games, only thing that changed from the first ones that came out to second ones is instead of using the PS2 chip on the PS3 to play PS2 games, it does it through software emulation.

But at the same time who cares that much about playing old outdated games when there are newer games out? The PS3 has enough games out to support itself without the need for 8 year old PS2 games.

Look you will never get 150 dollars for this. Just trying to help you sell it.

ummmmm...his point was you cant get one that plays ps2 games for $200..no way in hell..the ones that are out now you cannot play ps2 games on...you have to get the old 80 gigs or old 60 gigs....the only ones you can get at stores now that play ps2 games are at blockbuster in the bundles and they are over $600...YOU'VE been served

all ps3 over 80 gig plays ps2 games..they use an emulator.

 

i heard the emulator sucks thought, check youtube vids to cmpare the 2, its pixelates the image or soemthing

 

WRONG. There is an old 20gb that does, and the 60gb, the 160 does not and neither do the new 80's. The older 80's do however.

I sold my PS2 locally with 12 games, 2 guitar hero controllers, 2 controllers, memory card, and more for $100 cash and I was totally pleased.
Take $100 or less and move on.

For all you dumbasses that think you know what your talking about:

I own the NTSC 60GB version and Yes it plays every PS2 game I own. As you can see there are NO PS3's currently in production that can play PS2 games.
I personally believe I own the best PS3 version even though it doesnt have a giant harddrive I will never need the space and mine does everything possible and has every good feature combined.

 

my 80 gig that i bought 2 months ago plays ps2 games just fine...this does not make me a *******. i know quite well what im talkin about.

 

It depends on the version, Look at my table above, the ones that says. PS2 compatible with a HARDWARE on it, then you have to buy nothing. The Software ones im not sure about but you need an emulator and I dont think its built into the system.

Ok then you must have got an older 80GB version that uses the emulator. The new production 80gb systems DO NOT PLAY PS2 GAMES without modification. If you think you are still right then take a pic of the front of your ps3 showing the USB ports and have your css.net name on a piece of paper in the pic and if it has 2 USB ports I will eat my words and call you the king.

I'd say $50 would be more reasonable, eBay is a much better spot to sell things compared to this forum. On eBay you might get close to $75 for your bundle.

On eBay he would easily get more then $50 for all that. It's not just the PS2, he has a ton of other things. Sure the PS2 alone would not net him $50 but with all the other stuff it would go for more then $50 im sure.
