Do you have the loose fitting also? I've heard that's a problem with STS'. I've heard it will "rattle" when in gear, like the shaft isn't thick enough or something.

No idea what this means, but mine doesn't rattle at all. I don't have my knob screwed in all the way because I like it a little higher so I can rest my arm on my armrest more level.

But no rattle from my STS. There's a rattle in the back of my car that I can't figure out, if it's my STS then I hate my car!

That's a problem with the other short shifters on the market like Hurst and Ark where the shifter shaft is connected to main pivot ball by a weak press pin and reverse lockout mechanism is metal sliding directly onto metal.

Our short shifter is TIG welded and the reverse lockout has a delrin bushings and rubber o-rings for smooth operation. There is no vibration coming from our TWM Performance short shifter! Had mine in the SS/TC for 1.5 year and it works flawlessly.
