What is the procedure for changing these tranny mounts? I'm ready to bite, rockauto is pissing me off making me ship front and rear oem from 2 different locations assholes.
|
Its not that hard... All u have o do is start at thr front mount... Then rear one.... I started at the rear one and believe me... It was a pain in the ass.... I forgot the instructions said front one first and that's what I got lol

I see lips on both sides, do they press in? DO I need a vice or is there another trick?

The STOP aluiminum full replacement mounts come with the bushings already installed, just bolt in the new mounts. |
Yeah, poly bushings is what I need as I'm auto. Do I need a press or will a vice suffice?
|
Either works just fine. Don't forget to get an upper engine mount also, for the auto tranny.
|
Ordered front and rear poly inserts, have ingalls and new oem upper so should be enough. $35 for shipping, I guess ZZP and CED are not the only vendors milking the Canadian shipping cow!
|
Shipped already! Thanks for your order.

Impressions thus far:
Yes, vibes are quite prevalent and the dash rattles. Seems to have firmed up my front end, oem mounts were shot though so to be expected. Initial acceleration up to 1500rpm sounds and feels rough but then it smooths out to a higher pitched vibration, WOT vibes are present but muted...the whole sound and feel of the car matures with these poly mounts, almost like a big block with lopped idle. Only game in town with an Auto tranny, if anyone wants to step up and make good rubber mounts I'll be lined up to buy them but until then TTR is the only company man enough to offer any alternative whatsoever so thanks Aaron for that! :cssNET: |

When you have one soft side, moving a lot, and one rigid side, that sloppy side makes the rigid side transfer those movements into the frame. Being all rigid you dont get that extra movement, which seems to issolate the vibrations to a lot less. |
Hi Aaron. :) I've been really happy with my TTR intercooler and I'd like to install a few more of your parts. I think I'm really starting to need some motor or trans mounts, but I can only afford one for now. What do you think is the best to install first for reducing wheelhop/ smoother shifts? The engine mounts or the trans mount? I have access to a 50k lb press and I would like to save as much as possible, which bushing would be used for the SS/TC that works with the stock housings?

Your axle will ALWAYS comes straight out of the trans, does not mater what location your mounts are... A leaky seal is not related to a tranny mount... Seals over time can wear and leak...

Thanks!
