Front Mount Heat Exchanger Group Buy

We finally finished off installation and testing of our new Front Mount Heat Exchanger which runs in parallel with the stock intercooler heat exchanger. The HE sits just behind the front lip for maximum air flow. It is over 3" thick with a dual pass built into the HE which increase its efficiency.

Included:

Front Mount Heat Exchanger
Aluminum mounting brackets
Stainless hardware
Heater Hose
Stainless clamps
Full Instructions

Results:

Test vehicle: 2007 2.0L Cobalt running GM Stage 2

Before:

Temps went from 82*F to 124*F = increase of 42*F

After:

Temps went from 77*F to 115*F = increase of 38*F

This was a single gear pull on a cold day, there should be larger temperature drops on a warmer day specially at the track. There would also be better gains during multiple gear pulls.

Other enhancements noticed:

* Faster drop in temps after a run
* Lower cruising temps

Before:

After:

Price:

Regular $440CDN

With a minimum of 10 orders we can reduce the price to $375.99CDN

our prototype model hung a bit lower than we wanted. Production one will hang in line with the front lip and also the drain plug is moved to the side instead of below.

Funny how my 07 with stage 2 never had any knock or ever went over 25 more than ambient, if IAT1 is 45 IAT 2 shouldnt be 115, also looks like COT is kicking in, might want to find a better car to test with that one has some issues to be worked out

Anyways is that painted, it might look better just aluminum

this guy has intake, 3.5TB, header, cat back, this is a good example of why you need tuning with even simple bolt on.

This HE is copper/brass (has better heat transfer than Aluminum) so that's why it's painted. It is about 1" thicker than the CA, it's built in a week so not too much of a wait.

What exactly does it bolt onto? Do you need to drill?

that's why it cost so much, its made of copper. I can see that working better so It's probably worth the money...

It's a heat exchanger so u know ur gonna get a decrease in iat2 if the end user actually hooks it up right.

Where are you seeing this? I'll be honest I'm not a tuner and I don't know what those things (graphs) mean. But I was looking at the IAT2 line In Farenheit, and I think the peak is 122 vs 115.

In other words, where should I be looking if you don't mind "learning" me a bit lol.

iat is the air inlet temp then iat2 is in the manifold...the difference between the 2 on before is 72*'s...on log number 2 the after its 70*'s difference

Okay I get it, 124 - 52 = 72 and then after 115-45 = 70 and so the difference of 2.

I always hear people talking about the IAT2's so I though it was simply to get that peak number lower. But now I see your point, and it makese sense. Thanks

we are going to test the front mount on a car running a 2.7 pulley and our tune.

We will also do a couple gears in a row to see the differences.

Last we have been talking to our supplier and we can probably drop the price another $40.
