'06 LS going warping brake rotors in less than 5k miles
Anyone else have issues with this? Some of you might remember my other post where I had a bad knocking sound under braking. Turned out to be a warped front rotor paired with old control arm bushings and the crappy ass steering column they put in these things.
I replaced the front rotors with a pair of EBC units ($90) and it went away for a while. Now, less than 5k miles later, I can feel it in the brake pedal and hear the column making noise again.
What else could be wrong with the car to cause it to warp the left front brake rotor twice in less than 10k miles?
I might be letting the car go back (repo) soon because there is no way I can sell it for what I owe, and there is no way in hell I'm keeping it long enough to get it to that position or pay it off. As soon as I can scrape together enough money to pay cash for a car, this one is going back.

My stock rotors warped at 5k, turned them and went out again around 15k. Bought EBC slotted and they warped around 40k... I have just been saying f it and running warped since. I am on 73k now.
I can say nothing good about ebc pads, customers come in here with the EBC pad material falling apart. not nice.
ac delco do an advantage series of rotors that are well priced, dont warp even in reasonably hard driving. But some folks can wreck anything i guess.

I'm still trying to figure it out. I don't feel anything when I'm lightly braking, but if I have to brake harder I can feel sort of a "thump, thump, thump" through the pedal and can hear the steering column knocking around.
Been looking for a low mileage car in the junk yard to pull several parts from, (column & shifter) no luck so far.
Not sure how the rotor can't be sitting properly. Wheel is on and torqued down.
Hasn't really gotten worse, so I'll be keeping an eye on it until I get rid of the car. May have someone taking over payments.

take the rotr back off and check to make sure here is no debris stuck behind the mating surface. check to be sure your caliper slides are working as well. can you spin the left front freely when it is jacked up?
