thanks for the info i'll need new brakes in spring at least in fronts.. that's an awesome price. is that for the OEM pads and rotors or a different brand like acdelco durastop/centric/raybestos?

i hear ya... **** on all those companies that claim less brake dust and no squeeling. i'll take the OEM stopping power any day of the week. they work great. never had an issue stopping even from high speeds.

i forgot the name of the company that makes them. anyone remember? lol it's an odd name.

I tried the raybestos rotors they were disappointing, I took them off after 100 miles. 10-4 all stock. Rock auto does have good prices though. They dont carry inventory. Talk to Tom about his acdelco site... try that pricing...

Front OEM pads are made by Ferodo, Brembo pad manufacturer... I got mine from CED because other sites didn't tell me what they have and don't have in stock...

I went with premium slotted R1 rotors, OEM Ferodo front pads and HPS rear pads. No complaints whatsoever. Just make sure you bed in whatever rotors/pads you do go with..

EDIT: John beat me to it by 2 minutes.

^^^I agree. I would and do always run stock pads in the rear, they dont do much work, and if you run too hard a compound in the back they may glaze over...my .02c.

well if they outperform the stock pads and rotors i'd be impressed but do they wear quicker due to being ceramic? i have 70,000km on my front pads and rotors and they still haven't hit the squeelers yet. that's impressive for their stopping power so i'd be more inclined to deal with the bit of brake dust they produce and keep what i know works.

Drilled would be crap. Slotted are actually nice up here in the NW to let all the water out.. It only rains 80% of the year here.

As for the HPS for the rear, I have those back there since they work very well on my wife's ride. No issues whatsoever.

yes slotted would be nice for that. it rains alot here in the maritimes too and that first second or two when your brakes are mushy and don't work well makes your stomach jump to your throat for sure haha

I don't have that issue anymore now that I switched from OEM blanks to slotted R1s... I know what you mean about the mushy pedal after driving in the rain for a while.

i think he's trying to get at the fact that the pads and rotors are probably made of the same materials regardless of what design they are.

that bieng said i will always go with what the car was designed to use. the stockers. they work great and wear slow.
