09 ss/tc rotor install problem

first time installing destroyed rear rotors on this car. 17k already shot blah blah

well i went to slide my pads into the caliper and it was a no go. the piston would not compress. parking brake was off car in neutral with the wheels blocked. resivour cap was open, used a c-clamp to compress the brakes ended up bending the c-clamp idk what im missing obviously not doing something correct. even opened up the bleeder screw and still nothing fluid came out but the piston wouldn't move.

changed my rotors and pads on my old cobalt and even though it had drums in the back the fronts were a cake walk, piston compressed like normal and never had this problem before.

any help would be great

thanks/

hopefully you didn't destroy your calipers. the pistons spin in, not compress

Since the parking brake set up is incorporated into the rear calipers you need to twist the caliper pistons in, you can go to any auto part store and ask for the special tool just tell them you need it for twisting in your caliper pistons, the kit is probably like 50 bucks or so. Good Luck!!

This is why people shouldn't try and service their own brakes when they have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

You probably ruined the calipers.

Buy a master disc brake tool set or a caliper piston retractor and see if they will spin in, if not you'll need new calipers.
