2 Questions about struts

So after 65,000 miles my driver front strut is shot. I have two questions.

1. Do I need to replace the passenger side as well? They people at the tire place I go to say its recommended, is this legit or are they just trying to milk me for extra services?

2. I believe my FE1 struts are directly interchangable with both ss/sc FE5 strust and ss/tc FE5 struts, but if someone could confirm this for me I'd greatly appreciate it. If I need to buy a replacement I'd rather just by the OEM+ replacement so long as its a direct swap.

They are correct. You never want to replace just one side. They should be done in pairs or a 4 at once.

The FE5 Shocks and Struts are a direct bolt in.

Thanks man. I was pretty sure they were a bolt in (I used to post here alot) but my knowledge is a little rusty.
