alignment with sportlines..?

Hey guys,

So, over the summer I installed Sportlines. I have been wanting to get my car aligned, but anywhere I go says they can't do my car since it's lowered and it either won't fit onto their machine or they don't have proper specs for it. So what I might just do is go to this one nissan dealership that has an alignment machine built into the floor for the new skyline.. But regardless, I guess I need "specs" or something? What would you guys say to this? Is there something I didn't get since I got them used? Anything? I'm on stock FE3's right now..

Thanks!

Damn I'm just replying to your posts all over the place today...

I call bullshit on what the dealership said. I've had both my lowered balts aligned at the dealer. Including my ss which sits lower due to the ss body kit. Unless your dealer just has really old cheap equipment. Actually, it shouldn't matter, because they should have the capability to align corvettes, which sit at least as low as my car does.

That's the thing. Our dealer is very good, and the biggest one in Pittsburgh. They get the cities cop cars and stuff.. I'll have to mention it again and see.. But any other suggestions? I have the SS kit too, but that wasn't what they were really worried about..

Lowering springs dont affect what your alignment should be set too.........In other words even lowered you want it set to factory specs.

You'll probably have to find a specialty shop thats willing to do it. Some tuner shops should too if they have the rack.

I got the run around when I installed mine as well.....first issue was no shop wanted to install them....glad that happened because I saved a lot and learned a lot doing it myself....

Anyway, finally I found a Sears to do it...kid that wound up doing did a great job because he's done a couple including his own Ion. Not too expensive either.

just dont mention its lowered next time...you are paying for an alignment...not warranty stuff, therefore they cant say they dont have specs because it shoud be the same as maven said

See, I installed them myself also.. The car seems fine overall, but it's never been aligned, and it's at almost 70k miles, so I'm sure it's quite a bit off.. My steering wheel is also slightly offset to go straight, so yeah, I think it needs done.. lol
