All lowerd SS/tc's...

Since the TC has a good suspension I keep contemplating whether or not to lower my TC. I know there are a few TC's out there that have already taken the step and lowerd their cars, but my question is do you think it helped handling or hurt it? I think the first TC lowerd belongs to Smokinjoe, but I havent seen him post anthing in a long while. Anyone else out there have any input?

I know there is no real way to compare without extensive track testing but any info you might have would be appreciated....

I dont really know that it handles better cus like you said the suspension is already pretty low stock. but to me it corners a slight bit better but i only installed tenzo r's so i dont really know i keep looking at my car everytime i go outside and i think i want it lower but im not sure how to go about it. I just read some where you can go with a adjustable coilover kit but i dont know what that would do for the rear since theres no strut in the rear so im kinda lost on that. and also to go as low as i want i think i would need to flare my fenders out some. but I think air suspension might just be for looks i dont see them being able to improve your ride any actually i see them taken away from more so thats just IMO tho so im not really sure anyway tho heres pics of my ss/tc before and after the tenzo's

i think it would help to lower it. i plan on doing this in the spring. lower center of gravity would improve the handling. i know they say the suspension is good but i think there's quite a bit of body roll on these cars. then again i could be spoiled since i had a '97 grand prix GT and that thing was a beast with regards to handling.

I used the H&R sports, all in all it went down 1 3/4" in the back and 1 1/2" in the front, the car feels great, LOOKS 100 times BETTER and it got rid of any body roll the car did have. So my $.02 . . . . DROP it

How do the stock spring rates compare to the pro kit?
I still have my pro kit from my 06 and I want to know if it will improve the handling?

You dont need to LOWER your car to redduce body roll.

good coilover kits will come with an adjustable spring perch for the rear springs. Thats how they work that.

I am on the same boat as you. I don't want to touch the suspension because I think it handle great. It would be alot better if the rear was lowered down 1/2 inch, which would make a big difference. MAYBE GM performnace will develope some 1" lowering springs/shocks, like they did for the svt focus.(I doubt it though)

But lowering the cobalt will mean I will have to be more careful on driveways, parking curbs, and a snow pusher in the winter..

I am lowered on b&g coilovers and I must say it was a big waste of money.... the rear shocks rub the rear susp. member. I am breaking sway bar links and the car is so damn noisy now. no improvement in susp. performance...... not saying all coilovers on the ss/tc will be like that but the b&g are not worth the money.

why does he have that injen plate frame tho, i know he doesnt have a CAI cus there isnt one out yet for the tc and if there is i want part #'s NOW!..

Well I got mine for free basically..... lnf08ecotec took them off his 06 ss/sc he had prior when he put on the K-Sports.

So he gave the springs to me for a tune! worked out good for both of us!
