Another Koni Update

For those of you expecting Holland to knock out a product in the next month or so... Sent today from Koni.

"We did start the R&D on the Cobalt. It looks like we are going to have
to develop new parts for it. This could take up to a year from now. If I
hear anything before that I will do a search for anyone that made an
inquiry about the Cobalt and send them an e-mail.

Thank you,

Stoney Hamilton

isn't there a guy on this forum at had the testing done on his cobalt with the konis and now he has them installed. Why would they be making new parts if the guy who has says there awesome.

Precisely what I was wondering, unless a) this isn't for the SS/SC (which is what the test car is) or b) they ran into some roadblocks while they were testing on his car so they've got to redesign.

NO struts
No Wheels
No Sway bars

No one cares about handling in the aftermarket it seems...dumb dumb dumb. If Hotchkis would do their complete TPS package with sways, bars, coilovers they'd make a killing. Don't know why people pass up free sales.

Dammit. I was gonna wait for the konis before i got my eibachs. i may go the coilover route now. I wanted to at least upgrade the handling on my 06 LS considering there are no other good mods besides intake and exhaust.

Here's a simple solution.......Buy a set of coilovers. There are a few options out there now and they will probably work better than any strut/spring combo that you can put together.

There are Sway bar options as will. Eibach makes a kit and Progress has one as well I believe.

The problem is that this car is still "New" in the aftermarket. R&D takes time and a lot of money. Companies aren't going to rush these things into production if they are not guaranteed a return on their investment. We just need to be patient and stuff will happen.

Eibach's kit doesn't exist, vendors list part a part number but Eibach hasn't produced even a one. Coilovers are $1000+. R&D does take time but look at the aftermarket parts for the Neon SRT4 and 2006 Honda Civic Si already. For some reason, our cars are ignored in the handling department.

As for being patient , I don't see we have a choice at this point.

**** koni,im tired to wait for strut,im sure that the price difference between the KW variant 1 coil over and a set of spring with koni shocks will not be too much .
