Any problems from dealer with lowered car?
I want to lower my car, but I am not sure if I am going to viod part of my warranty by doing so. I know it is usually hit or miss with dealers, just wondering what everyone has ran into, if anything.
i havent had a problem and im lowered on h&r springs. cars been in like 4 times for either recalls or brakes BUT if you blow a strut and you bring the car with lowering springs on there they will void that parts warrenty. read up on the magnuson moss act
rack spacers i recommend to avoid bump steer....also just so you know they make this car handle worse. the drop is awesome looking and for a short time its totally worth the handeling sacrific. if your looking for an ultimate combination for your money just throw pedders springs on your car.
I went to get my oil changed last month and i asked the guys if i could drive my car up the lift and they looked at me like i was stupid,I didn't want them to fudge up my interior.
My strut was leaking and they replaced it on my old 2.4 and i had tenzos so my car was slammed also traded it in with them on they didnt notice lol so my car is for sale at the dealership next to all the other cobalts slammed to the ground ha

also to OP im on H&Rs and love it. been dropped on them for 3 years and no complaints, i have koni yellows and rack spacer as well with progress swaybar and dc strutbar and the thing handles like a rail.
never had a problem at the dealer, although i went to get it aligned and the guy who did it bitched about how i have no wheel travel etc. i asked him what he drove and he pointed to a half rotted mid 80s chevy 1500 so...... lol
a dealer can not look at your car and say your void cause you lowered it, something would have to break and then if you took it to the dealership to get fixed and they directly connected that part breaking to your lowering springs THEN your suspension would be void
i do have a turbocharged model so in my opinion the spring rate isnt right for the car unlike the pedders springs on stock struts which seem to be pretty ideal......the turbocharged models handled like a rail from the factory but they still could use a little improvement. the h&r springs are a lot softer not to mention before the rack spacers i got bump steer. im switching to coilovers come summer. these only stayed on for a year and the drop was well worth the ride sacrifice.
ok man because of conressional warranty laws the only reason the could actually void urr warranty is they would have to be able to prove the the lowering caused whatever the issue is. So in other words if ur struts were just done at say 10k miles, well than they can reasonably say that the springs caused the issue and not warranty the struts but they cant void say if ur i/c pump goes out. They cant void the whole vehicle warranty because of ur springs
what makes the car handle worse?
