Is all brake fluid the same?
DO we need synthetic brake fluid for our cars? What kinddo we put in? The manual just says DOT 3. Is that Conventional? Synthetic? What happens if I mix. I baught my car used, dont know whats it in now.

All brake fluid is technically "synthetic", so it really doesn't matter either way what the bottle says.
Your best bet is to get a good brand name DOT4 fluid. DOT3 and DOT4 are 100% compatible, DOT4 just has a higher boiling point, which is beneficial.
Valvoline makes one that says "Synthetic DOT3/4 Brake fluid" which is good.
I use ATE Super Blue DOT4 in my other car, which one of the best brake fluids you can buy.

Your best bet is to order it online, its unlikely that you'll find it in any parts stores.
The Valvoline is actually pretty good, and will hold up at the track if you're not too hard on brakes. ATE is a little better. My favorite is Neo 610, which is a bit hard to find, but great stuff. Castrol SRF is the king of all brake fluid. Really is in a class of its own, but it's also in a price range of its own.
