brake issue
brake issue
gotta vent about this one..
Brought my car to the dealer because i was leaking brake fluid and i only noticed this because i had the tires off to paint my rims. Now they are telling me that one of the lines are cracked due to me lowering the car. I only lowered the car maybe an inch with SSC springs. Everything was clear, no noticable stress or rubbing. the car has been there for two weeks, dont have the part and wont have it for another week or so. only good thing is they are covering it under warranty but they are flagging it in the system so anything thing else from here on out is my problem.

2-3 weeks for a brake line, i'd tell the dealer to stuff it and go buy one and pay someone to fix it. Kinda sounds like they're giving ya the jerk around because you modded your car. Call customer care if you want something to get done and someone to vent too.
At least my experiences with stealership you have to play hardball with them (which in my mind is horsesh*t, but life goes on)

So for one of your lines to be leaking, it sounds like there was definitely a rubbing/pinching issue that caused the problem.
I would ask the dealer to show you where the line rubbed through. If there are rub marks, then its your fault for lowering it. But if its something strange like a pinhole or leaking fitting, they shouldn't be voiding your warranty for your mods, and you should fight that.
Brakes lines rarely leak, and if they do, there is usually evidence of rub through/damage.
it was checked after i lowered the car...when i go to pick up the car i am going to ask to see the old line and where it was rubbing. I think it is BS and it was not because of lowering the car.
