Brake Line Fittings

I wanna get a custom set of brake lines made up for my balt but have some questions about the fittings first.

I believe the banjos are just 10mm banjos, however are the other fittings 3/8-24 or M10-1.00? Thanks!

It depends on which day of the week your car was made. They should all be M10x1.0. Lucky me, I have M10x1.0 up front, and something else in back. I think I have 3/8-24 in the back, but I didn't have a thread pitch tool to check when the line was open. Was not happy, I can tell you that.

Same here. I ended up installing the old rubber lines in the rear because the stainless steel ones wouldn't fit. I bought them from FTP a while back, and they said they would make me a new set if I could tell then what fitting I needed on the back, but I didn't have a thread pitch gauge to check.

I'm almost positive that it's 3/8-24. Technafit refuses to believe me unless I measure them.

So I know stainless lines won't expand nearly as much when the brakes are applied compared to rubber lines, but is this a difference in response you can actually feel? Or are there other benefits I don't know about?

Yes, there's a small improvement in pedal feel, but it's minimal. I do it for safety reasons. I've had a stock rubber line come out of the crimp on an Evo 8. Totalled the car on track due that failure. Someone around here also died due that same failure on an S2000. I have never heard of a stainless covered Teflon line fail like that. You do need to inspect them, but if they are covered in plastic, it's essentially a lifetime part.

Technafit will make the lines for you if provide the threading specs. They kept insisting that the first thread was overtightened @ the factory and crushed, but still M10x1.0. Since I didn't have a thread gauge or M10x1.0 bolt handy, I didn't want to waste $80 on custom lines without making sure. I'll likely check them when I install the rear sphericals.

I'll check when I get home. Their normal setup is fine, IF the back of your car has M10x1.0, like it is supposed to. Mine doesn't
