Brake problem???
Brake problem???
Ok I noticed I was getting a vibration a lot at high speeds. Me being a tire technician I knew the tires were most likely out of balance. I had been playing around with the car, you know screeching tires and what not. Well I was really busy lately and then one day noticed i was getting REAL BAD vibrations at high speeds and even worse while braking. So I took it to my shop and balanced the wheels. I am not THAT knowledgable, but I know the basics, so I was looking around, and I noticed the right caliper had indications that something was scrapping the caliper. Nothing else had scrape marks. Also the right side was SCORCHING and the left side was not.
Took the car to the dealership and told them the problem. They said the pulsation was because the rotors were jacked so they reserfaced them. Found no other problem. I never checked for the heat, but today driving it I noticed the pulsation coming back.
Anyone know of known problems with the brakes on these?

hmm, yea if that keeps warping and what not maybe its a bent hub. and they probably used an off car brake lathe. Ask if they an use an "on car " brake lathe . that will greatly reduce the hances of a vibration from a rotor again.
Pad transfer problems from a combo of poorly matched compound to the use and driving habits.
Overheated compound breaking down upon the rotor surface from high temp usage. "Spirited" driving and/or freeway stop and go. Combine that with a habit of holding one's foot on the brake pedal after stopping and the pads are baking to the rotor. More common on Automatic cars where this is required but can appear on std tranny cars also. Creeping at a stop can help on Autos as well.
Solution? Pads that will operate in a higher temp range and not break down so quickly when hot and learning to not hold your foot on the brake pedal. Rotors full of holes; no. SS hoses; no. High temp brake fluid; no. Pads and diving habits.

Mine TOOO
My New Balt, Vibrates that same way. I have 13k on it and have an appointment to get the back turned.... Annoying.
I'm actually looking into aftermarket, beefier brakes to replace the factory...
I'm just not happy with the stopping power at higher speeds.
Being in houston, and all the whacked out drivers here, stopping in a hurry is more a matter of survival then a want..
But I agree, the resurface of the brakes will get annoying if its every 10k or so...
