Brakes

Hey guys,

It's about time for me to get some new rotors and pads. I keep reading on here that stock is the way to go, but that also seems to be for cars with brembo brakes. I have an 07 SS supercharged without brembos. Is that still the case here?

Also, I'm assuming that means I have the single piston calipers in the front?

I was looking at R1 Concepts but am not quite sure what would be best.

Thanks for reading!

my first set of brakes i put on my ss/sc were from r1 concepts. dimpled/slotted rotors and hawk hps pads. way better than stock and lasted 120k km. i was real happy with the performance of that setup, i did have to turn the rotors once (was getting a shimmy when braking) but thats not unusual with performance pads. i would have bought another set from r1 concepts except they screwed me over on a set of rotors for another car, (listed the wrong rotors on their site and wouldnt accept a return). now ive got some other brand rotors on it (cant remember) and another set of hawk hps pads.

The premium Centric rotors from Rock Auto work great. Slightly cheaper than OEM but seem higher quality.

No idea what you want for pads though. It depends on your driving.

So I've been looking at their website and I'm not quite sure what option to select when purchasing a set.
I have an 07 SS Supercharged with stock brakes. The options are:

Rear disc brakes;excluding supercharged;1-piston front calipers
or
Rear disc brakes;supercharged;with Brembo front calipers.

Now I'm getting confused because the first option says excluding supercharged, but I know that my car doesn't have brembo calipers which makes me think it's the first option anyways.

I would appreciate any help,

Thanks!

My bad experience with R1 was when I warped them while racing on highway from slowing down at high speeds these rotors warped so bad that the steering wheel shook violently so hard when trying to do normal stopping. It was scary to me how bad they got and I never had any problems with any other rotors like that which I never tried another set of R1's. I believe the stop tech rotors which I believe are same thing as premium centric rotors where much better quality then R1 because of this issue that I had with them

I can't even explain how bad my wheel shook man it was the worst I've ever had and when I went to replace them the pads were not cracked or anything like just the rotors where warped so they got trashed
