Brakes, When to change them
How many miles should it be till we check or change are brakes. am at 13XXX miles and I drive 35 miles daily, only 10 or less of the 35 being city. Thanx

Oh dear lord, brakes should at least get you past 30k.
You should CHECK them every time you rotate your tires, so about every other oil change if you're going on 3,000 miles. Replacement shouldn't be needed until 25,000 at the earliest if you're horrible on brakes, but more than likely 30-40k is the realistic range they'll need to be changed in.

Get new pads. When I did brakes I put another set of OEM rotors on with Hawk HPS pads and they're a dream. My OEMs started to go at 27k, rotors were grooved but fine, wear was normal, pads were gone. I did OEM rotors with the HPS pads and I've got 29k on this setup and neither rotor nor pads are showing significant wear.
