Break Rotors Shot!!!

Break Rotors Shot!!!

My rear rotors on my 08-TC are shot they are scored up and make a grinding sound but my pads are good? ive got 50000 miles on them is anyone esle having this prob.

Common.

High metal content in the pads. Machine and switch to ceramic pads.

no its 50000miles i know its alot of freaking miles for a 08... but any good rotors to buy if they are shot??

You don't need new rotors just because those are grooved.

As I said, you can just get them machined and get new pads and save a few bucks.

If you do buy new rotors, have fun.

Dude, consider yourself lucky, people have seen their rotors shot at 4000 miles. 50,000 miles is pretty damned good

yeah i looked at the pads off of it today and they have chunks of metal in them scoring the rotors!!!! Gm screwed us there!!!! good brakes cheap pads

just buy new OEM rotors and pads and be happy you got that sort of mileage out of them. How many sets of front pads have you been through in this time? You on your second set? If so , you doin'good.

i am still running stock pads and rotors never changed them... but i drive like 100miles round trip to work so its a highway miles. They were scored up at like 5000 miles but the dealer said i had sand in them and they would fix them selfs, yeah right lol so i just drove it and now im ready to fix it
