Break Systems
Break Systems
Ok so this morning i go to work and when i go to park find out my ebrake isnt working...guessing the rear breaks are dead will find out tonight when i get home. Anyone replace the whole breaking system on the rear of the car? such as putting Brembos on the rear, or a whole new system? How much did it run you? Where did you get them? and is it better than stock. I have only had these new break pads for only 500miles roughly 1 month. Let me know what everyone thinks.
Then there's your problem. Cable probably came out of the fastner, just take the little piece off the back of the console and check the cable. Might want to tighten it while you're in there.
The e-brakes suck on these cars anyway. Don't rely on it, always park the car in gear. If you're really concerned about it, chock the wheels if you have to park it on a significant grade.

I saw some people talking about it, but I don't think anyone's done it. My main concern would be that the car has great brake bias from the factory, I would think putting Brembos in the back would royally screw with that and take some work to really get right. Might be OK just day to day if you're not a hard braker. I really don't think it'd be worth it. Just find a pad and rotor combination that works and doesn't wear as quickly as stock and it should be GTG.
ya didn't see him mentioning that, only saw that he was looking to upgrade to brembo rear calipers. and ya they have problems with the sliders not being properly lubricated from factory causing uneven wear in the break pads. most TC rear pads don't last past 2000km's haha
You should worry more about how they perform. If you screw with the braking performance for the sake of looks, it's not that difficult to end up with a pile of scrap metal.
