Bump stops and dead coils...
So I'm having the issue of my lowering springs not sitting low enough for my liking. The car definitely don't have the 4x4 stance anymore but it's not as low as the specified drop rate either. So I've got a few questions.
First, how many dead coils should you have on lowering springs? I ask cause I counted mine up and I have 4 coils all sitting on each other. That seems like a bit of overkill for dead coils. And are they supposed to be on the top or the bottom?
Second, I know what the purpose of a bump stop is. However I've seen people just flat remove them before, including the platic spacing plate they are attached to. I don't think taking them out would be a good idea but trimming the plastic spacing plate might help. Although I don't think it would help that much.
I'm on Dropzone springs (correction from the cms springs I thought a few days ago). I really don't want to drop the money on coilovers and couldn't right now if I wanted to. And do to other reasons I'm kinda tied financially from even buying different springs.
I mean if I'm riding on that many dead coils in the rear can I just cut one out? I'm only looking for another half inch here and it's proving to be a pita.. Help?

On cheapo springs like that I would say just cut one of the dead coils. Usually they are on the bottom. Bump stops are there to add some damping to the suspension when it reaches the bottom of it's travel. Usually you have to cut them with lowering springs since you are reducing the suspension travel.
Well I cut the rear bump stops in half. I don't want to remove them completely cause that's just dumb although with these springs there's a likely hood that even if it does bottom out the bump stops might still not touch. Haha.
I'm just worried about the spring seating if I cut it.
