Been looking myself, I just don't like the idea of drilling the strut towers to fit the VW stuff.

Anyone ever tried these:

I have been looking into this as well and ran across these the other day.

Anyone know why the ones designed for a specific coilover won't work for stock struts? Maybe somethig that can be modified?

check out JBP and horsepowerfreaks.com
They both have camber kits. I was actually trolling to see if anyone has used them. They can be used with stock struts.

Email sent to Overkill Engineering Motorsports to see if there stuff ever got made. Just no options out there without drilling for the 4 bolt VW/ground control stuff.

I've heard more negatives than positives on overkill's parts.

I wish there was a set of plates for our cars tho. I could use it...

All of those are either camber bolts for the front, or shims for the rear.

Technically, all that info is true. But it's not a good idea to shim the rear.

Besides, camber bolts work fine, and are safe. Just get those. You all want camber plates just to be ballers. If you wanna be a baller, get coilovers.

If you want camber, just get the bolts.

If you REALLY want a functional top hate, turn it sideways and control caster.

Yes, I use a modified set of these today and they work quite well. I've been using a set for more than two years.

maybe someone here could answer something for me. With a strut suspension do you gain more negative camber during compression by adding more caster?

You gain camber up until the control arm is perpendicular to the strut. Which is why lowering the car too much has so many detrimental effects.

Still can't get my head around how caster helps the camber curve on struts.

How difficult was it to modify them to work with the stock struts?

Coilovers would be nice, but i cant justify paying that much for only ride height and possible rebound/compression adjustability. Even if i bought the Coilovers, i would still need to purchase the camber\caster plates seperatly. Cant see any reason why you would would really need coilovers unless you are takinig the car to different tracks on a regular basis. Then I could see the need for the ease of adjustability to dial in the suspension according to the track. Or, you just want them for show and bragging rights. I have used camber bolts in the past and they work for the majority of cases. They are mainly to correct excessive camber on lowered vehicles and bring them back into spec. Usually they dont provide enough of an adjustment track and highly aggressive use. Besides its not what you got under the hood that gives you baller status, it what you can do with it.

I very carefully drilled and tapped the bolt to work with my 14mm Konis and I've used both the B&G top caps and the flatter Ground Control top caps. I've recommended to other people that you get a machine shop to drill and tap to get a perfect bolt alignment.

ys i noticed that, blows credibility out the window. drilling 4 holes doesnt bother me. a redline you cant do that without chopping the top of the tower off and welding in a flat plate. so four holes drillled a two hundred dollar ground control camber plate set, one special sleeved nut for the top strut and hammer down. whats not to like?

disadvantage is no isolation. every pebble will be like going over train tracks, and train tracks will be like "omigod i crashed the car"....
