Talking Coilovers are on!!!

ok so I bought KW Variant 1's awhile ago off of another member. Well I finally put them on today, and wow. It's like a whole new car. It handles so well, rides incredible. 1000x times better than stock. Oh, and it looks soooooo sexy. We also did another member's today, Billig SS/SC...his are the megan coilovers. Once again, simply incredible. We both have a little bit of camber to work out but if you can afford a set, I'd really suggest buying some. I think I fell in love with the car all over again

just thought I'd share with everyone because I'm pretty excited.

Pics will follow tomorrow hopefully

haha wouldn't know yet. I have the version of the KW's that are made with a special steel to resist corrosion. Or at least I think I do. lol we'll see as winter progresses. all I know is that I'm in love

here's a quick pic that I snapped. obviously not great, and my car is dirty as ****, but you guys get the idea. Still have to play with the ride height a little, but I think it looks sexy as hell

Yea the ride is a lot better. Mine are sweet 'cause they're 32-way adjustable for the dampening so I can make it basically whatever I want. I got the alignment done today and it feels so nice. The only thing still bothering me is that since the kit is new it's still settling and everything so every now and then there's weird squeaks but it's no biggie. Just gotta watch the front lip everywhere I go now haha

Yea if you wanted to, you could do that no problem with mine. I'm pretty sure with Justin's (op) that wouldn't be an issue either.

Yessir. I love mine 'cause height can go from above stock to slammed as hell (might do it once or twice for a show, but not driving) and mine have adjustable dampening so you can do almost whatever you want with it. I want to stiffen up the back 'cause it's still kinda "bouncy" but it's better than stock no matter what.

Okay, first of all, before I freak the f*ck out......its D A M P I N G........not dampening, your controlling the tendency of the suspension to oscillate, your arent making things moist.

Are these things independantly adjustable for height and preload? or when you change one do you change the other? IE can you raise the car without compressing the springs and can you lower it without taking tension off?

I know the B+G's are independently adjustable for height and pre-load. I am probably going to get a set soon. I have a feeling it will take a while to get them dialed in because I am a perfectionist, but I think it will be worth it once I find their "sweet spot".

uhm... actually. dampener(ing) is actually a verb form of damp. Dampen: To diminish progressively in vibration or oscillation. ....ingalls torque DAMPENER

I don't know if I am THAT much of a perfectionist, but I could look into it.

Um, okay, except for the fact that its not an "Ingalls Torque DAMPENER" its a "d a m p e r", even Ingalls is aware of this http://ingallseng.com/

Yes, dampen is the verb form of damp, as in MOIST, so dampen means to make moist. The problem is that when we use "damping" its a NOUN.... As in the built in feature of a damper that prevents excessive oscillatory conditions.

Just be grateful I dont run around telling everybody to stop using the word "shock absorber"........because you all use that incorrectly to.
