Coilovers are on!!!
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/dampener
more than one use for it. but either way. both of them are spelled dampener. but
since when did stuff that ended in the ing suffix become nouns???
more than one use for it. but either way. both of them are spelled dampener. but
The problem is that when we use "damping" its a NOUN
transitive verb
1 : to check or diminish the activity or vigor of : deaden <the heat dampened our spirits>
2 : to make damp <the shower barely dampened the ground>
3 : damp 1c
intransitive verb
1 : to become damp
2 : to become deadened or depressed
And even if you want to argue that this is the proper word, we'll follow your logic, dampener is the verb form of damp....this is pointed out as such in this definition, look up damp 1c, and see what it says.....It doesnt relate to what we are talking about. You cant just pick a random word becuase you think its definition applies, you have to look at what its the verb for, what its "action" really is

For further proof that "damping" is a noun......... When you get Koni's or coilovers they have adjustable damping. The word "adjustable is......an adjective, it cant be use in front of a verb. It is a "noun modifier"
"shocks", struts, coilovers, whatever it pertains to all of them. FIXED my post
