From Coils Back To Struts/Shocks Question

To save my lower back from any more abuse from DTW roads, I'm highly considering the move back to a strut/shock and spring setup for suspension from my Megan coils.

Going with the FE5 pack - Cobalt FE5 Struts and Shock Pkg FE5-S

And YYZ v2 - Powell YYZ V2 Spring Pkg YYZ V.2

I was wondering if I needed any more parts to complete the move?

TIA,
Mark

Nope. Konis are even better, but if you ditched your stock setup, then you'll have to get donors.

Okay, sweet. So I don't need to buy anything else off this list? - http://www.crateenginedepot.com/2008...-W236C948.aspx
It was making me nervous, as I don't have any stock parts from when I swapped to coils.

This is just a DD. Koni's are overkill for me.

I think you may have to get the strut tops and bearings and stuff. Ask them when you call. It looks like thath is just the shocks.

Bleh.

Hopefully John or Tom sees this thread and can chime in. I'm at a loss.

So, YYZ V.2... Is this going to be the preferred spring for track cars or is it still the original?

Thank you! Just gonna quote it here, so it doesn't get lost.

At the rear, the upper bump stop and the lower isolator are required, you may still have them, it depends what you tossed when you Megan ized your car.

One thing I can say: you will fall in love with the ride and handling all over again when you are done, and someone will buy your megans willingly. Good luck!

Thank you John! I owe you a beer.
I take it that I should just buy 2 of everything you listed and I'll be set.

I noticed that all the part numbers you listed are for the front, but you stated that the rear would need upper bump stop and insulators. Am I just daft and those are already listed? Note: I have nothing left over from coil conversion.

Crav3, look out for my FS thread.

I did not list the rear parts. I will look for those for you - two pieces per side upper which isolates and has a bump stop and lower which centers and isolates.

Cobalt Rear Spring Mount 04-10 25993736
25993736 Cobalt Rear Spring upper Bumper assembly fits 04 - 10
Replaces 22734495
$42 12 this is expensive and you need two!
The lower rear is not listed anywhere, thats a Monday job. 800 441 5150
