Any strut/shock for the Cobalt will work with any spring, just the weaker ones like FE1 will blow faster when lowered vs say Koni's, FE5 or KYB.

I have Koni's and it depends how low you really want to go. I'm only on Powell YYZ V.3 springs, I'd be close between the two I know the FE5 are a significant upgrade and will take some abuse but for which is better for low I don't know. What springs do you want to use with the shocks/struts.

haha its not too bad to be honest, but i know im going to get screwed in the winter and i dont feel like going FE1 height. Since my girl is so far over on the miles of her lease she has to take the car sometimes and her parents had to use it the other night hahaha must have been hilarious, 50yr old couple driving a lowered loud cobalt that rides like **** hahah

I know it's a bit outdated of a question, but after searching quite a bit I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer. Are the SSC and CM springs the same? I strolled down to ZZP today (awesome having them just down the road) to grab some SSC's on a whim. Possibly thankfully, they didn't have any in stock. Since I have to order them and have them dropped ship I am now more curious as to the SSC/CM debate. If they are the same then I might as well save $70 buying them from CM right? Also mind you I have an LT so anything is going to be better than stock.

P.S. I had CM springs on my '98 Saturn SW2 and absolutely loved the ride and drop, so I'm sure I'll love either one.

Idk how different it would be on a sat-turd but I would try reading this whole thread but it seems most ppl say they're not the same

I did read this whole thread, plus a few of the other longer lowering spring threads on here. The consensus is pretty mixed.

Thank you! Anyone else to back this up? I've seen lots of love for the SSC's, but not as much for the CM's but that may just be a lack of exposure of them.

I have CM. they're great. decent drop, not the lowest but not the highest. and the ride quality is better than I expected with them after riding in other lowered cars.

It's only a difference of 1.4 to 1.5. Take out the isolators and you can make up that difference. Ill be moving to coilovers anyway.
