Interesting. Usually the rubber tears away from the outer steel liner. It looks like the inner steel sleeve has torn out of the bushing. The fresh mark you see is the arm moving up and down over every bump and yeah, it's making a noise each time hitting the subframe.

Yes! My buddy and I replaced them on his G5. Do not buy polyurethane ones, just get factory ones from the dealership, they were like $15 each. Broken lower control arm bushings will cause the car to make a "clunking" noise when you go over any kind of bump, be it a speed bump, a pothole, or up the curb of a driveway. I would replace those as soon as possible. It books at the dealership for a 5 hour job, they told us; we finished in 3.

You will need to get the new ones pressed into the control arm, though. The dealership almost NEVER replaces just the bushing, they replace the entire control arm, because there is a risk of making the part of the control arm that the bushing sits in, oblong. We got his pressed for $45 for both.

Yeah, poly CAB's don't hold up long, I went through a couple sets before I made a set of spherical ones for my car.
