crazy tire scrape!

i bought some tenzo r lowering spring from next level, the car looks freakin awesome. but im having a major problem. before i lowered it i bought some real nice tires. now that its lowered i get a very bad rub in the right rear only, like when i go over a bump fast or just a little dip in the road. at first it did it once in a while, now it does it all the time. its eating up my new tire. i took the car to my sis shop (shes head service advisor at a GM dealer) they checked the suspension, struts all that. the drivers side is actually 1/8 inch lower than the right side and i have no scrape there. only the right. so the tech says everythings fina and he has no clue why it would be doing this.

now my question is... could the spring rate be off on that spring, or would i need a stiffer spring? ive lowered two of my past vehicles and never had this type of problem.

i appriciate the help. thanx guys

to be safe i would contact tenzo and plead your case, and see if they could send you one new spring...its a long shot, but worth a try.

actually yeah if you call em you gotta send it back and pay for shipping blah blah blah andthey send you a new one at THEIR discretion. I dont liek tenzo. eibach ftw but hey I dont have either so I can't talk. but I have used eibachs on my cavvy and my teggie had tenzo's , for my teggie they were great ! but not so much for the balt b/c IMO it makes the ride worse.

The rear TWB (that axle thingy under your car) is mounted with rubber bushings, and the deal is, sometimes its a little bit off to one side or another. Where exactly is it rubbing on your fender well? because what you could do is bring it to a body shop, or a friend that knows what he is doing, and have them roll your fenders.

1/8th of an inch really isn't that much, if you have a bowling ball in your trunk it could throw it off.

and to be honest, how much do you weigh? your weight alone could cause one side to sink lower than the other side.

^ thats true, i weigh 180 lbs. so i guess the drivers side could be lower but i wansnt in the car when he checkd it. and i've thought about having the fender rolled out. thats exactly where its rubbin, on the very outside of the fender. theres room to roll it out. and i called next level they emailed me the return info, the springs are warrentyd for a year, so they said i have to send them the spring then they send it to tenzo, then they do some tests, then if it dosnt meet standards they send me a new one. gay.

I honestly don't think it is the spring. It could be, but then again, mprobably not. Sty this, lossen up the mounting bolts for your twb, not much, but just enough that you might be able to move it with some force. see if you can't shift it a little. You won't screw up your alignment becaust you can't align the rear end anyways.

and if there was a slight bump in the floor, or anything like that, it could cause the discrepency. 1/8th of an inch is such a small increment.

Yeah, my passenger side is a bit higher, too. It comes down to, you're always sitting on one side. I've seen it on friend's Cobalts, and other cars.

That's just how it is.

1/8" is within spec technically....you could have a misplaced spacer or a pebble causing an 1/8" difference

Its gonna be hard to trace down an 1/8" on a street car, especially an economy one like ours. There is just too much rubber involved, plus youve got inexpensive springs and usually backyard installs.....its a losing battle.

The amount of gas in your tank could throw it off
