D2 Coils leaking?

ok i had no choice and had to drive back to school yesterday and it was snowing and there was a ton of salt out. this is like one of the only time i have ever drove in the snow (salt corrodes coil threads). anyways today i peeked at the suspension and noticed that in the front it looked a bit oily near the top of the strut like where the rubber cover comes down. its not a thick oil like when my oem struts were leaking but it looks wet. i hit a pretty big pothole like a week ago so im hopeing i didnt blow my strut out. i thought the d2's used a nitrogen gas to fill the strut so would it get oily if it was leaking since its just gas? i dont notice any difference in ride so idk if its blown or just wet somehow (cars too low to reach and feel it).
