does anyone have??

does anyone have the length measurements of the front and rear struts, both the housing and full length with piston? I have a set of cavalier Koni's laying around, wondering how far off in size they are to each other.

come on ppl, I might have an inexpensive alternative to the pricey coilovers and the none existent struts for these cars, I just don't have the pieces laying around to measure myself. From visual inspection of the pics I have seen, I think the Cavalier front Konis will work, as for the back, they look sneakily similar to rear S-10 shocks, of which there are a myriad of aftermarket pieces to be had at low low prices.

not to be an ass, but you know that how? the cavalier Koni yellow fronts are only inserts, you have to cut the top of the strut off and slide the Koni cartridge into the OE housing.
No sweat off my back, just go ahead and be a sheep, sit back and follow the masses waiting for everyone else to do the hard work. How do you think Koni does R&D? it starts with seeing if they have an off the shelf part that will fit, maybe with revalving. The backs are definitely out of the question, but the fronts are close. Thats fine, I will do it myself, unless Koni has their product out by the time I am ready. I thought ppl on here were about making the Balt a better car, but I guess its not any different than j-body.org

I dont think the fronts will work. I looked at an old cavy strut I had when I got the car thinking the same thing and the struts are not the same diamiter. The cobalts are biger. So I think the cavy struts will be vary lose in the cobalt housings.

But Im not 100% on that. More like 80%

all right, just a thought. Koni should be coming out with their cobalt struts soon anyways, hopefully they won't be outrageously expensive
