Evaluating SS/SC brake combos, OEM vs. Aftmrkt

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the subject. My 06 LSJ needs new pads and rotors and I'm kicking around some options.

I was thinking either complete OEM setup or doing a Hawk HPS w/ slotted front solid rear rotors.

The OEM price is not a deterrent as I have access to discounted pricing.

My biggest concerns are how are the two setups on:

Performance?
Pad/Rotor Life?
Brake Dust?

Anybody who has experience please chime in.

Hawk is a solid choice.
Have you checked out R1 Concepts?
EBC, if you're into that kind of thing.

If you get OEM hardware at a discount, I'd just go with that.

I run HPS with R1 slotted all around and ate superblue fluid. It's an overall good street combo but for autox it is a little lacking in initial bite. However even on very long corses(>1.5 minutes) I see almost no brake fade. It doesn't give very much dust at all too which is nice.

I have seen R1 Concepts and was considering their rotors. The Hawk HPS lacking initial bite is good to know as well. How do the OEM pads do on dust output?

I'm running the OEM pads with the GM performance drilled and slotted rotors. I absolutely love this setup. No brake fade what so ever. I autocross every month. I've had this setup for about 12k miles so far, and no squeaks. My only gripe is the dust. I prefer the pattern on the gm rotors because the holes aren't close enough to each other to cause those aforementioned cracks. Plus they look incredible.

ive got r1 slotted/dimpled rotors and hawk hps pads. i love the combo, stops very well. yes the hps pads lack initial bite, however its easy to get used to. its not like its real bad, just when you step on the brakes the car begins to slow down, then you feel the brakes bite.

another note, ive got over 80k km on my brakes, i just had the rotors turned as i was starting to get a vibration under breaking. the pads still have 80% left on them.

I've been running Hawk ceramic pads w/ Power Slot rotors for 2 years now....

No issues, and great braking performance. Not to mention, low dust.
