Fe3 to fe5 also clunk problem
Fe3 to fe5 also clunk problem
Hey all,
Just had a quick question. I've had a clunk when I turn right for a while now. It's a single clunk that is metallic sounding in nature almost as if a washer was moving across a bolt then "clunk". Wondering if it's possible for it to be my sway bar end links.
In the case that it may be, what are good tests to see if they are the culprit?
Also can I just buy fe5 end links and they'll bolt right onto my fe3 or do I need the whole assembly?
PS - 2006 Cobalt SS 2.4 lowered 1.5 in front 1.65 in back.

Not that I'm aware of, no. It only seems to happen when I turn hard right (the car leans) or when I'm pulling into a parking lot and make a hard right. Sometimes it clunks back when I turn left right after.
Bump - put the fe5 sway bar links on, didn't seem to resolve the problem but car felt better driving btw good upgrade. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking I'm gonna go out and look at the control arm bushings.
Bump, I'm lost. It makes a sliding noise (metallic) then a clunk when turning right. After putting on the shorter links now I have a clunk when I hit bumps so either I screwed something up with the install or maybe something with the strut itself. Either way anyone have any ideas for the sliding clunk noise? I figure I'll just take the car into the mechanic.
