FE5 Strut on SS/SC? Or better choice?

I just bought my 06 SS/SC and sadly have to replace the Front Struts....Im familiar with the SS/SC FE5 struts due to the rants and raves of car and driver. are the FE5's a direct replacement for a SS/SC model? if so, is it worth it? im looking to spend around $150 a piece and consider my car a daily driver...thanks in advance

No doubt im getting a pair. Rockauto.com sells them very cheap ($91) and if you consider it an upgrade then im down. I this a common next step or does everyone go to coil overs instead?

I have a 06 SS/SC, i thought that only the Turbo Charged Cobalts had the FE5 setup otherwise the older models use FE1. Either way i think ill buy a set of FE5's. Thanks for the help.

The FE5 is on the SS/SC and the SS/TC. The TC FE5 has however been tweaked/improved.

SS/SCs already have FE5, SS/TC have DIFFERENT FE5. You want SS/TC FE5 if youre looking for an upgrade. If they are $91 they are proly SC type FE5

How much do you think it would be for the shocks and struts?

Makes sense that the FE5 has a 2nd generation. So then what is the FE1 that is listed on Rock auto? There more expensive then the FE5's.....Regardless, im getting the TC version

Are you just replacing the 1 blown strut? If so just get the original FE5 to match the setup. If youve got the money it would be a nice step up to the TC setup all around
