FE5 Struts/springs to FE1

Hello, I'll apologize in advance because usually people go from FE1 to FE5 but I want to have a smoother ride. I bought the 2006 Cobalt ss s/c with an aftermarket lower suspension and basically every bump i can hear scrapping. I know these cars are meant to be sporty but I'm looking to raise it an inch or so. Right now the suspension is really saggy and I might as well change all 4 components. Any thoughts on this? Will switching to FE1 struts and springs give the car more clearance or should I just buy FE5 oem struts/springs and call it a day. Either way I need to ditch this current setup. Thanks for any input.

I have KYB Excel G shocks and struts with Tein springs and I love it but if you are just looking for a stock ride go back to the FE5 set up.

Just move to OE FE5 components and call it a day. The OE stuff rode nice and smooth - a lot of aftermarket spring kits and coilovers for this car are actually pretty terrible.

Agreed.

The stock stuff never rode the best either, budget McPherson front end with a twisting beam rear isn't the smoothest ride.
