Looking to "upgrade" to FE5 on 2009 Cobalt LT.

Car is an 09' LT sedan with stock struts/shocks on Sportline springs. Struts/shocks are shot, or at the very least, not a good fit for Sportline springs.

Over the past couple months I've come to find the ride is quite harsh and truth be told, the car is in fact too low for ease of access. So, new suspension is top priority now.

Don't really want to go back to stock FE1 suspension, I mean the ride was fine and the ride height OK, but man is there a lot of body roll on turns, it was worse than my cavalier RS, surprisingly.

So, for a bit firmer suspension, I thought FE5, but springs are discontinued. This leaves me using FE1 springs or hunting down used FE5 springs.

What say you guys? Anyone here sitting on some FE5 springs they are willing to part with for a reasonable price? Should I just use FE1 spring with FE5 shocks/struts?

It's a daily driver, I'm just bad about taking corners a little faster than I probably should.

The original didn't really lower it, but the latest version seems to have a fair drop, as many voiced that's what they wanted.

If acquiring SS springs goes nowhere, I may go that route.

Regardless, anything is better than what I have, and apparently, they may be fakes anyway, which could explain a lot. Mine actually say Eibach on them, so I probably need to confirm if they are in fact fake. They were supposedly new old stock. So if Eibach has never put their logo on sportline springs, then they are probably not legit.

From a financial point, it'd suck, but on the flip side, I've been driving my old Cavalier until I get the suspension issue sorted out. I could toss my OEM springs back on, just didn't want to go through the work only to return it back to stock.

I think both Tom (is it called Crate Engine Dept still?) and ZZP sell the FE5 shocks with YYZ springs installed as a complete package. I highly recommend it. Otherwise I would think you could find used FE5 springs very cheap on facebook or here.
