FE5 Sway Bar

I just ordered the FE5 front sway bar with bushings and clips, and moog endlinks to go with my FE5 Shocks and struts and OTTP street bar. Anyone have a how to to install the front sway bar, i heard its a complete bitch, any tips? I will be using air tools so it will help.

The front is pretty easy remove your front tires, Downpipe, transmission mount & bracket (15 & 16M). And the 2 end link bolts(18M) . I just did this about 2 weeks ago.

The rear really only takes 15 minutes. It's very helpful to ziptie it in place also.

can i do it without removing the downpipe? and does it just slide out? Im not worried about the rear, i know it just bolts up. Im good at working on suspension, but ive never gotten into the sway bars, i can change springs in record times i swear. Ill do it when i put in my stage 2 mounts, sounds like a perfect time to do it.

If any of you can take some pics of a little bit of your work, I would greatly appreciate it (and so would many others).

I'm debating on doing this...depends on how much I really want to mess with the front end (I will be doing struts and shocks...SS/TC, and steering rack spacers this summer some time so that would probably be the time to do this). OP where did you get your parts and what did you pay?

you dont have to take the sway bar off

just take the tires off, remove the endlinks, take the subframe up front and drop the bolts down most of the way (leave a few threads in) after taking the bolts out of the two tranny mounts

then just pull the brackets holding it down.....and swap..then reinstall new one

shouldnt take too long at all

the biggest issue will be: do you drill and install the FE5 2 bolt bushing bracket? Good luck with that...if you dont, over time the single bolt and tab bracket will yield and the bar will b ecome ineffective...

This is confusing me as well...if you have an SS/NA it would have FE3, if you have an SS/SC it would have FE5 LSJ, if you have an SS/TC it would have FE5 LNF...so you are upgrading from LSJ to LNF stuff aren't you?

How does an SS/SC come with FE3 equipment?

If you have an SS/Sc that was supercharged from the factory, you have the FE5 system. Unless you felt like upgrading to the FE5-s (turbocharged car) stuff for ***** and giggles...

Wait yeah i do have the SSSC, but i was under the impression that it was FE3, and that the TC was FE5. So my shocks and struts to the FE5 wasnt an upgrade and the sway bar isnt an upgrade? Well it looks like ill be returning it, my shocks and struts needed replaced anyway.

no they were both upgrades. The TC's have different valving in the shocks, and the SS/Sc bar is 24mm, the TC is 25. It was an upgrade, but i doubt you actually feel the difference.

okay so its pointless to spend the 137 bucks on the new bar?

pretty much. It'll help, but it's not that much of an upgrade from the SS/SC bar. For an ls or lt, it would be.

thanks for saving me 140 bucks i appreciate it. Any other suggestions for suspension or any other kind of use on my car. This is the first time ever that i cant find anything i need to buy for it. It kinda freaks me out.
