Front Struts

I have been looking for front struts for my 06 cobalt SS SC. (just want to stay stock, and not lower) it has the performance suspension. Bought it new in 06. Having checked different brand struts, and comparing part #s between the different Cobalt models they all seem to have the same part # for for all the (same strut for ALL Cobalt models) 3 suspensions. Does anyone know of any struts specific to the SS SC? I know if you go to Chevy's parts warehouse they do show 2 different struts. one that covers the 2.4L and 2.0L are the same. Guess I could just get em thru GM, 111.00 ea, plus $37 shipping. Any suggestions on aftermarket brands that are specific to the SS SC?
thanks for your help
Craig

I would take this opportunity to upgrade to YYZ springs combined with FE5 struts from the TC Cobalt. They used to sell this package on CED but now Tom is setting up his own store. You could probably contact him direct through here for more info if interested. https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/memb...tsstore-77520/

Otherwise I would recommend going OEM with FE5 springs/shocks off the TC Cobalt. Iirc the 2.4L came with FE3 suspension and though the springs/shocks are interchangeable across ALL Cobalts I don't think you would want to downgrade to FE1 or FE3. Purchase OEM FE5 for 2.0 turbocharged. Verify part numbers that it is OEM FE5. I've heard the TC Cobalt FE5 shocks have better valving than the previous FE5 from SC Cobalts. I think Sachs is the brand for the shocks but may be mistaken.

Ya... what up with the CED site? Full of 404 errors in the Cobalt nav section, (ie. suspension). And don't see the alum control arms with the Powell CAB's anymore either. It's being transferred over to this oempartdepot site? Who is Tom though? A member here starting a website? Affiliated with CED?

Direct link works though...
