Well y'all need to get on the ball with stopping all the misinformation that's out there about FE5 shocks/struts allowing more of a drop then FE1's.

As for cutting the springs, I'm picking up a set of 18's tonight and I'm gonna see how much that does on wheel gap. If it gets rid of most of it then I'll probably just do a lip kit to give the body the appearance of being lower.

I'm really surprised that these springs are lower then Sportlines. I think mine are Canuck Autosports or something like that. I know they were less then Eibach's and have held up really well for me.

FE5 shocks/struts do a better job of holding the car in corners due to better valving. Don't get me wrong there better than FE1s, they won't lower your car any

Okay. So here it is with the new to me 18's on it.

The gap still seems about the same. I know that thicker wall tires would help but these are brand new tires and they'll be on there for a while. It wasn't a bad deal. $400 for 4 18's with new Falkens on them. But even with a thicker wall tire I think there's still gonna be a pretty good gap.

So let's say I decide to cut a coil off my springs, how would I go about doing it? I know you can't heat up the springs at all so how is it done?

Haha. Thanks man! It was too good of a deal to pass up? But do I cut from the top or the bottom of the springs?

bottom. The top shrinks in for the strut mount. The bottom stays the same size for a junk load of coils.

Ok. Do you think something like one or two coils would be ok and still keep me from rubbing?

hmmm.I would probably try 1.5-2 coils.Do realize you will be raked like a skittle though.People usually don't cut the rears, but if you do cut the rears, cut the bottoms as there is still a cupped pirch for the spring. You may want to think about just buying new springs and selling the pro kit.Although the rears can be cut I do not recommend it.

Damn. I was hoping getting low enough was gonna be easy. I don't know of any springs that would get me lower that's the big thing. And I really don't wanna drop a grand for coilovers but it seems like I may have to.

Buy Ksports or any other 2.0-2.5 spring of choice and cut a full coil out of the fronts and leave the rears alone.Cut the bump stops in half and you will be pretty flush,if not a little tuck up front.I'm on Ksport

How much are ksports? What about those spring clamp things on the rear? Do you think those might help?

1lowls this is random but do you still have the big huge stock muffler on your car as in the pictures from page one? if so I think if you sprayed it flat black it would help the rear of your car look complete. It looks clean now and then you see the rusted stock muffler of death lol

Haha the muffler is not rusted and I def. did think about painting it,but it's getting swapped out for a Magnaflow muffler shortly so I won't bother with it.Thanks for the tip though.

Just checking I know when I cut mine off the whole under of it was that lovely brown somewhat rusted color lol. I painted mine on my lt black and made it blend it better. God the stock muffler is a tank you will shed 80lbs by getting that magnaflow

Haha yeah.I put the stock LSJ muffler on because I had a 3 in 5 out fart cannon on it and it got annoying as hell. This is nice and quiet with a tiny bit of tone but I want it a tad louder,so I'm getting a nice and long Magnaflow installed to keep the rasp down.

My biggest concern is that since I'm gonna eventually get taller tires, if I lower it to a good point with these tires it might rub later on. That's why I was thinking about those clamps. That way when I get taller tires I can take them off to raise the car back and go from there. But I hear a lot of weird stuff about those.

Did you trim your bump stops when they were installed?

No half is fine. You can try the clamps.I don't think they will fit that well for the fronts and may hit the actual car.I tried fitting some up in there when I just bought mine and couldnt get them to fit up in there, that's why I said it may be clunky.Do you know what the drop is on the Canucks?

Well when I bought them it said 2" front and 2.3" or so in the rear, but now I'm reading that it's only like 1" and 1.5". Mine are only a year old so I honestly doubt theyve changed the drop. I probably got screwed when I bought them.
