GroundControl

So i was looking around the net and came across GroundControl Coilovers for Cobalts 06+. My question is are they real coilovers or something else? I've read that they are sleeves.........which to me, i have no idea what that means, just wanting to know before i make a purchase.

Sleeves give you an adjustable spring perch height, which allows ride height adjustment. You can balance your car better this way if you corner-weigh it and adjust accordingly. The process involves cutting the fixed perches off a donor set of struts and replacing them with the sleeves.

Aside from the height adjustment, they will allow you to use cheaper standard-sized springs like true coilovers do, BUT your struts are limited to whatever the donor was, which limits what you can ultimately use. Ground Control does make good stuff, though, so if you can live with those limitations, it could be a good setup.

save and get true coilovers, i know a lot of people that have sleeves and the ride isnt what you would get out of true coilovers
