Harsh ride on stock 06 SS
So I know that low pro tires and a stiffer sporty suspension make you feel the bumps more, but lately my car feels like it is going to fall apart here on the roads in michigan.
When i hit a bump or speed bump even at like 5mph i can hear like a pressurized air sound coming out of the front suspension. Does this mean I need new shock absorbers or something?
Also can anyone recommend a good all season tire that might be a little better at absorbing the bumps.
i'm willing to trade some performance for ride comfort, not like the roads in MI are really that curvy...

Gas noise is normal, front struts have a gas-filled cartridge in them, all the cobalts do that.
As far as tires, anything all-season will ride softer. Try going to a size with a little more sidewall, although you can't get much more than stock size in these size of tires. 215/45/18 should be fine, just don't go any lower profile if the ride bothers you.
Honestly, if it's that bad, this may not be the car for you. It's a budget sport compact, there are some sacrifices made in the name of performance, ride comfort is one of them.
