Has anyone busted there rear axle assembly?
I was wondering, because after sliding and overcorrecting and spinning out hitting a curb. It looks like there weak pos, mine cracked on a weld near the hub assy. And does anyone know how the "ABS" works on the 05 ss. I didn't use the brake because I know somewhat its bad to when sliding. However I believe it had something to do with the car doing a complete 180 degree....
And does anyone sell an aftermarket reinforced one??

Yeah if you slam a curb, its gonna break.
I know how the ABS works, the only thing you really need to know is that it only works if you use the brakes:dancingpickle:
A race spec rear axle assembly will tun you about $1500+shipping. It wouldnt have helped

Ya, my rear end was up on top tho, I guess I hit just dead on at an angle. And I wasn't rolling reversly but sliding. But, you got to admit I would think that the Weld shouldn't of broke, but the material. i.e. stamped steel. That and my front left lower control arm got kinked in the process. Just week prior to this I ordered lower control arm bushings, struts, and strut mounts.... because of front end clunking over small bumps. I knew I should just paid the extra for new lower control arms. I'll see if the order hadn't gone out yet. Thats what I get for not taking it easy.

I'll get pics, but my phone camera ain't the best. Thats actually what I was thinking, because its a heavy car. While waiting for a tow truck to shortly arrive.
Ya, the reason I ask is because the light is stuck on now. I should of used the brakes before exiting the turn. But, now I recall I was subconciously timing the light, to see if I'd go through before it turned red, as it was yellow. Which means slow down..... Thats what I get for thinking to much. I just had a bad experience, not posing any hazard/or damage with my crx as I made sure there wasn't anyone around where I spun a 360 on a highway loop. Where I spun out a 360.
My car never stalled out that whole time, I had the clutch pressed in.
However with a ford im just saying if you were to roll one, there designed to stall, the way the oil gets distributed..., and there'd be coolant in the oil, and it'd be a mess where you have to drain all fluids. The more I think about the **** I've done, and other ppl I know that had died. Im lucky... My speeding days are over. Being a defensive driver isn't enough to speed less then 10mph over.
The stock axle is pretty solid, its an impressive piece of engineering for a V-shaped piece of metal, a 7/8" round bar, and some stamped steel trailing arms welded together.

Right after this happened, I called 911. To report it, and they questioned me i.e. was another car involved? are you blocking lanes. I said no im in the bike lane. And then I was requesting a tow truck, b4 some awesome dude said he knew of a local one. And then the dispatcher was like "What are you calling then for?. I blatently said, because its my correct good morally right intention as a citizen where she agreed. And said then do you want me to cancel, I replied ya. I didn't feel I was breaking a law because of calling it in. But I could of gotten "Failure to control a vehicle" someone said. Luckly a tow truck got there quick, just as a dps car drove by.

Okay, first of all glad youre okay!!!!! Secon d, the reason your ABS light is on is because you probably broke the wheel bearing or tore the ABS harness in your wreck. And of course the coup' de grace: Ford turn off when you roll them because they have a fuel pump inertial cutoff switch, it doesnt sense rolling, just shock, if someone hits you in a parking lot hard enough it will shut off. If youve oil in your coolant youve got a cracked engine hard part. Oil wont get in the coolant just because you go upside down....there needs to be something break/fail for these two fluids to intermingle

These are actually DESIGNED to break like that. If they didn't, something else would have to give (wheel, upper strut mount?). Something must absorb the impact. This is actually an easier-to-fix, acceptable failure mode for this type of crash. The rear end doesn't typically travel sideways, though... You probably ought to make sure the body's still straight, though, before you just bolt up and go.

Ya, I know, my friend was explaining that to me, i.e. it would flip if they didn't design it like that. How would I find out if the body straight? im going to take for an alignment of course.
Maven, have you been getting my pm's?
