how low can i go?

i have a base 2.2 with 18s and 215/45/r18s. i want to lower my car because i look 4x4. i see cars with 2/2.5 drops and 215 or 225/40/r18s and it looks pretty slammed. im afraid that i will have clearance issues if i drop it that far. my next lowest option that i found is 1.6/1.9 (sprint) or progress 1.5/1.9. im afraid that wont be enough to look how i want. its my everyday driver so i want something thats not going to rub/give me issues. i know it will be a rougher ride but im willing to sacrifice the comfort for style.

what do you guys think?

*******EDIT*********

i guess i didnt word it clearly. but im concerned with clearince issues with my 215/45/18's rubbing, bottoming out, etc. ive only seen 2/2.5 drops with 215-225/40/18s and im not sure if the .3-.5 radius difference will cause clearance issues

PS sorry for all the people ive pm'd. im just trying to make the best decision.

do you have a lip kit or any ground effects, plenty of 2.0 and 2.4s runnin big drops a 1.6-1.9 will allow you to get a little time out of the struts.

im on sportlines with my 2....i get a slight scrape on certain bumps (the short tall ones, opposed to the wider ones), VERY minimal when at an angle, and otherwise am fine, and love the look
i got some struts to top off the handling to, so my car handles amazingly...much better than a stock ss/sc for sure

U'll be fine with the 215/45's and sportlines... It really just depends on how low u want to go on your options. I vote sportlines
