i know this was prob already discussed but..

i need to replace my right front strut. Would i need to get a alignment after if i just replace one?

Yes. In my opinion you should never just replace one strut or spring or shock.

any changes to suspension requires a new alignment, even if only to adjust the tow

How many miles are on your current set? Might make more sense to just replace 'em at all four corners if you expect the others are starting to wear out also.
