i need better brakes
i need better brakes
think i made a thread about this already. but i need better rotors on my 08 ls 4 lug. my rear drums are fine. but i need new rotors. i run 18's in the summer and i heard that warps them faster.
is the SSBC kit the best option as they are a bigger rotor?
would just reg powerslots or r1 concepts be good but still warp fast?
what is my best option.

i was told they will. since stock the car came with 15's and a 18 inch rim with small rotors ment for 15 inch rims is oversized.
And then they ask why do I go thru brakes so much faster now
lol ill buy a SSBC brake kit i dont care. but a member is selling one on here and all i need to know is if the 5 lug and 4 lug mounting brackets are the same.
im iffy bout used parts if i go with the SSBC kit id get this
SSBC Big Brake Kit Front Chevy Cobalt 05-07 2.2L

The added weight from the bigger rims doesn't help with not warping rotors that are to small to begin with.
Buying that kit for $800 is cheaper then doing a 5 lug swap. The other option is there is a caliper braket and rotor off an Astra or something, don't quote me on the model, that has a larger disk with the existing calipers. But you can't run those brakes with the 15's so swapping to them in the winter will no longer be an option.

yeah im not looking to do a 5 lug swap. was told i could get lsj calipers and drill them to 4x100. but what else besides the rotors and calipers would i need? would i have any problems with clearance when i have my 18's on for spring/summer and 15's for fall and winter, if i bought the SSBC brake kit?
if they are going to preform alot better and in the long run last longer i might as well get them.
but not till after my supercharger kit is installed. im waiting for nick at byt to message be back

The ac delco rotors are an OEM type and will work well.
I'd suggest you look into some lighter rims, or alter your driving style slightly.
Also, have your rotors cryo-treated before you put them on, will help with the warping.
